Project
Boeing 737NG Tail Docking Station

Client
Oman Air

Challenge
Create a mobile docking structure which can provide maintenance access to the tail section of the airline’s Boeing 737NG fleet. The structure must be able to be maneuvered with the assistance of a standard luggage tow tug.

Solution
Create a lightweight, scaffolding-based, steel tubing structure with a multi-point wheel system and suspension platform.

Result
The lightweight, yet structurally-strong design provided a highly maneuverable solution for the client. Khanco was the only company willing to participate in the client’s challenge.

The airline can now service their fleet without expensive gantries and other lift mechanisms.

Highlights
 16m x 11m x 8m, Tubular steel docking structure
